The Franciscan Museum in the heart of the medieval town of Villingen presents the history and development of the town and the region. In the former Franciscan monastery complex, it houses an area on 'City History' and, with the 'Black Forest Collection', the most important folklore collection in the Black Forest. ' In the section 'Celtic Prince's Grave Magdalenenberg', selected finds on the topic are exhibited, and the grave chamber of the prince in its original and partially reconstructed form can be visited. The Schwenningen Local History and Clock Museum invites you to take a stroll through Schwenningen's local and cultural history. Insights into artisanal clock-making are provided by the furnished clock-maker's workshop, clock-making tools and various types of Black Forest clocks. The Hellmut Kienzle Clock Collection exhibits high-quality clocks from the 16th to 19th centuries. Other areas include the departments on the Alamanni at the source of the Neckar and historical Swabian farmhouse parlours.

The Clock Industry Museum is located in the oldest former clock factory in Württemberg in the middle of Schwenningen. It conveys the history of industrial clock-making in the region. Industrial history can be experienced here on the basis of demonstrations and in a versatile, playful and humorous way.
In the Old City Hall in Villingen, special temporary exhibitions are on display. The historic building dates back to the 13th century and was expanded to become City Hall in the 16th century. Events and guided tours take place sporadically. The council hall is also used for civil weddings.

The privately run International Aviation Museum is located directly at Schwenningen Airport. Covering an area of 13,000 square meters, it displays a collection of aeronautical history with over 40 exhibits, including gliders, combat and model aeroplanes, propeller aircraft and helicopters.
